I realize most of the people who read my entries aren't that interested in physics, but this is potentially such a big discovery that I am going to write about it anyway.
There is a rumor circulating that the Tevatron accelerator has discovered the Higgs boson! (I'll wait for the stunned awe to fade...)

The Scanning is Done!

Or at least that is my hope.
For the last four years I have been spending my weekends (when I have no other chores) scanning my parent's photo books and negatives. I have photos dating as far back as the early 1800s, right up to modern day. My collection now spans five double density DVDs of scanned photos and around 25 of my own photos.
