Well, my last posting was a review of everything that I have accomplished in the last year. This posting is a listing of what I hope to accomplish in the coming year. Check back in 365 days to see if I was right...

  1. I am going to try to get out more. Those who know me know that 99% of the time I can be found in front of one of many computer systems or at my robotics bench. Apparently there is this new thing called real reality - just like virtual reality except it actually exists! So hopefully in the new year I will be out in the real world and spend less time in my virtual world of gadgets and gizmos!
  2. I am going to attempt to be more social. As a proud member of geek society, I tend to talk only through electronics means such as texting and tweeting. I will endeavor in the new year to actually speak a little more and maybe even leave my office/laboratory!
  3. I am going to try to be less cynical in my blog and other comments. (As if that could ever happen :) )
  4. For the last year I have been pulled away from my interests and hobbies because too many people want me to solve their problems for them. In the new year I shall try to remind them that I have a life too (as hard as that may be to believe) and so they should first attempt a solution themselves.
  5. Which leads into my next resolution - to finally finalize the editing of several research papers that have been growing old on my desk. Hopefully in the next few months I will finally have sufficient time to edit them and get them out to the journals. Same goes for several patent applications I have been working on.
  6. Finally, I hope to spend more time in 2011 enjoying my life and less time worrying about all the trivial problems. We are here to live and enjoy life, not to fret and frown about what isn't right!
So that is my plan for 2011. I predict that of the six, only one or two will come to pass but that is still one or two better than where I am at now. So to all my friends and family (who are no doubt still laughing at my resolutions), enjoy the new year and may it be a happy and prosperous time for us all!
