April 20, 2018 - For those of you who are interested in citizen science projects and astronomy, the DiskDetective project is in need of volunteers this week to finish their latest data set. It is a simple project but could make significant contributions to astrophysics and our understanding of the galaxy, and is worth the effort for those who have the time.

April 8, 2018 - Today I learned that someone I am acquainted  sent me a friend request on Facebook, but the request got deleted by someone illegally accessing my account. And so if anyone else is wondering why I did not accept their friend requests over the last few years, that is the reason and please feel free to send them again.

I am going to be offering some sessions this year, primarily online but I will also do group sessions if there is sufficient interest. I am also focusing on students who are in advanced mathematics and physics courses (fourth year or graduate level), but again I will also help with lower level courses if time permits and if there is sufficient interest. Those who wish to set something up can either use my e-mail address or try my contact page

February 3, 2018 - I have just heard some sad news today and wanted to pass it along to my fellow UVic physics alumni - last month Fred Cooperstock passed away. He inspired and mentored a lot of students over his long career, as well as making important contributions in the study of the general theory of relativity. He will be missed by many.

February 2, 2018 - Interesting news today from the University of Oklahoma, with the first evidence of a system of exoplanets orbiting a star in another galaxy. Until now all exoplanets that we have discovered were in the Milky Way, although it was always assumed that there would be other worlds in other galaxies. More details can be found here.

January 27, 2018 - In response to a number of requests this week, I will be offering some online tutoring sessions for the next months - with the exact time and number depending on my schedule. I am giving preference to those who I have worked with before, and due to the limited number of sessions I would advise anyone who is interested to contact me by email or SMS as soon as possible.
