January 1, 2018HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

December 25, 2017 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

December 15, 2017 - In response to a growing number of requests, here is a link to my Blender file containing some of the group nodes that I created over the years. It contains my Randomizer nodes (which I discussed in the tutorials), Pixelate node, and my Slope node. I haven't included documentation, but they are relatively easy to figure out. Free to use for non-commercial work.

December 1, 2017 - Now that final exam season is upon us once more, I am receiving a number of requests for tutoring sessions. Unfortunately my schedule is limited this year, and so I will only be offering online tutoring sessions to those students that I have worked with previously and cannot accommodate any new students at this time. My apologies.

November 11, 2017 - Remembrance DayLet us each take a moment out of our busy schedules to remember all of those who sacrificed to protect our freedoms. Lest we forget...

October 31, 2017 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

October 23, 2017 - The Zooniverse website has just released a new project called The Seabird Watch. Somehow this seems like an invasion of my privacy  - but still a worthwhile research project for citizen scientists.

October 20, 2017 - A reminder for those of you who will have clear skies this weekend that it is the peak of the Orionid meteor shower. These should be some of the best meteors of the year, with fast, bright streaks across the night sky. Unfortunately the weather forecast where I live will be solid rain for the entire weekend :(

October 16, 2017 - There has been an interesting joint announcement by LIGO, Virgo, and the Fermi telescope today, in which they announce that all three teams simultaneously detected a signal from a neutron star collision. This data will provide some interesting new information on astrophysics and on the origin of heavier elements in the Universe.

October 9, 2017 - Happy Thanksgiving Canada!! We live in one of the greatest countries in the world, in one of the best eras in history, and many will be celebrating this day with their loved ones (or if all else fails, their families). We truly have much to be thankful for today, and it is always worth taking the time to remind ourselves of that fact. Enjoy the holidays everyone!
