December 25, 2020 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
December 21, 2020 - A quick reminder that there is a very rare conjunction of the planets Saturn and Jupiter in the sky for the next few nights, and those with clear skies should take a moment to look up at this once in a lifetime event. In my neighbourhood the forecast is for record setting rain and snow storms for the rest of the week...
November 30, 2020 - In response to a number of inquiries over the weekend, I will not be offering in-person tutoring services this year due to the pandemic. I will still offer the online and video conferencing tutorial sessions, but spaces are limited so please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements. Stay safe, laugh hard, and always be kind.

October 31, 2020 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
October 25, 2020 - To be honest, no one knows if we will have Halloween this year. But just in case we do, and for those of you who live in an area without too many infections, I will once again link to some great sources for pumpkin patterns, PumpkinGlow and Zombie Pumpkins, and give another self promoting link to the galleries of my own carving from Halloweens past.( 2001-2005,2005-2011, 2012-2018, 2019 )
October 21, 2020 - Sad news today with the announcement that James Randi has passed away at the age of 92. Although he was not a scientist by training or profession, he did more than anyone else of the past or current generation to teach the public about critical thinking and the scientific method. Rest well.
October 12, 2020 - Happy Thanksgiving Canada!! We live in one of the greatest countries in the world, in one of the best eras in history, and many will be celebrating this day with their loved ones (or if all else fails, their families). We truly have much to be thankful for today, and it is always worth taking the time to remind ourselves of that fact. Enjoy the holidays everyone!
October 6, 2020 - Congratulations to Reinhard Genzel, Andrea Ghez and Roger Penrose for being awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics, for their work on both observational and theoretical studies of supermassive black holes. As usual it was a well deserved honour for some very interesting research.
