June 20, 2022 - Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and grandfathers in the world!

June 15, 2022 - A reminder to everyone that today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, when we should all take time to check on the elderly members of our families and our communities. As many of you know, this is an issue that is important to me because of members of my own family who were not only abused, but who could not get assistance from any form of government authority or healthcare program because elder abuse is still not taken seriously. Many victims are too scared and too embarrassed to report it. I know of a senior who have been told that if they complain, their abusers will have them declared crazy or demented and lock them away from society. In another case that I worked with, an elderly lady's son stole thousands of dollars from her and then repeatedly threatened to harm her while telling her that "a good mother wouldn't prosecute her own children" - and again when informed about this the authorities chose to do nothing. It is time that we as a society stand up for our vulnerable members and say that we will no longer tolerate abuse of our seniors.

June 3, 2022 - As I have had a few people inquire about the ongoing notice on this site's frontpage regarding the lack of a mobile website, and why it is lasting so long, I thought I would take a moment to explain. At the start of the pandemic my webhost suddenly stopped supporting mobile webpages. Their technical staff told me repeatedly that they were working on repairing it, but when the pandemic hit in March 2020 they had to vacate their offices and leave everything on autopilot. As of June 2022 that is still the situation. I built a temporary mobile website with another hosting company, but it was always meant as a temporary option - even though it has now been up for 2 1/2 years. I would really like to offer my viewers a proper mobile website again, but I am still waiting on the hosting company to make repairs. I will let you know as the situation continues to update.

May 15, 2022 - Just a quick reminder that there is a total lunar eclipse tonight, and if you have clear skies it is worth a look. In the Pacific Northwest where I am right now, it will start before moonrise, and slowly progress over the course of the next five and a half hours, ending just before midnight.
