October 28,2010 - At the request of friends, family, and coworkers, I have transformed several of
my artistic pieces into greeting cards, available for order through
my store at the Zazzle company.
October 23, 2010 - I just heard that the University of Victoria has ranked 130th in the world for top universities. Based on my own experiences I think it should be much higher!
October 21, 2010 - I picked up the headstone for my old friend today, and I will probably install it tomorrow (I will post a photo later).
Westcoast Monuments has done a very nice job on it. (

October 10,2010 - This is a very special day, and not just because it it 10.10.10. If that number is read as binary, it translates to 42 - which as we all know is the answer to the ultimate questions of life and the universe :)
September 30,2010 - I want to take this opportunity to promote a venture some of my online mathematics & robotics friends have started, and which I have been proud to assist with. Their company is called
Lonrach Research & Technology, and they are (trying) to build more connections between academics like myself and the business community by helping recent graduates find short-term consulting jobs with industry and government agencies.
September 24, 2010 - I am now back from my mini-vacation (which was actually a work requirement, but I take breaks when I can). I will post some pictures later when I get some extra time.
September 21,2010 - I didn't know how bad family feuds could get. Based on what I have seen and heard in the last few days from both sides of this one, I am so very glad that I will be out-of-town for the rest of the week!
September 17,2010 - My internet connection is unreliable today, so I may lose contact for the weekend. With my old ISP I never had a failure, but with Rogers it is failing every couple of months.
September 14,2010 - My life lesson for the day - never try to help (extended) family members, because they will just turn on you :(
September 13,2010 - I am still grieving for my little friend, and not being given rest by those who should be supportive and understanding, so I am taking a two week stay-cation. I will still do my tutoring and consulting jobs, but to all others I am unavailable.
September 10,2010 - After 23 years together, my little cockatiel Goldie passed away today. (

September 6,2010 - Just a quick reminder that I will be offering tutorial sessions again this year to interested students, in physics & math though I can also handle electrical engineering, computer science, and basic chemistry. I will be busier this year with my consulting work so it is a good idea to contact me early if you want help.
